Who Let the Latin In?

My knowledge of Latin is low

I regret that whenever I go

To where Latin is used

My ego gets bruised

I get no status or quid with my quo.

In an effort to help me, an old friend (poet and word lover Peter Desmond) sent me this:

I insulted my friends and annoyed ‘em

When I told them they were not ad eundem

With some college classmates -

Erudite sophisticates -

Who discourse in tones adenoidum.
